Rotatr is a local appliance, not a cloud service. Here is exactly what that means for your data.
Day to day.
No cloud relay, no account, nothing leaving your network.
Rotatr's Raspberry Pi talks directly to your Frame TV over WebSocket, on your own local network. There is no cloud relay in between and no account system for the product itself — nothing to sign into, and nothing watching the connection from outside your home. The photos and art you load onto Rotatr never leave your network as part of normal operation.

License activation
Activating a license happens once, online, at license.rotatr.net. After that first activation, your Pi verifies the license offline — it doesn't need to phone home to keep running.
Checkout
Whether you're ordering the SD card image or just a license key to activate Docker, checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, a third-party payment processor. Lemon Squeezy — not Rotatr — collects checkout details like your email and payment information. Rotatr's own site has no email-capture backend today, so nothing you enter at checkout passes through it.
What we don't collect.
No support tickets, no purchase gate on the software itself.
The Docker image is pulled publicly from GHCR — there's no purchase gate on the image itself, only on activating a license once it's running. And because Rotatr doesn't offer tech support, there's no support ticketing system collecting your data either.
