What hardware do I need?
Rotatr runs on Raspberry Pi. Supported models:
Does Rotatr require a Samsung Art Store subscription?
No. Rotatr pushes your own images to your TV on a schedule. No subscription required.
Is this cloud-connected?
Rotatr talks to your TV entirely over your local network, so no photos ever leave your house. Your license is validated online one time at activation. After that, everything runs fully offline.
What does it cost?
Pay once and own it. No recurring subscription fees.
What happens if a Custom Event and a Holiday land on the same day?
The Custom Event wins. Rotatr checks rules in a fixed order — Custom Events, then Holidays, then Seasons, then the All Year pool — and the first one that matches for that day is what shows. Recently-shown avoidance also applies throughout, so the engine skips art it has displayed recently rather than repeating it.
Can I add photos without going through the web app?
Yes. Rotatr also exposes a Samba network share, \\rotatr\ArtLibrary, on your local network, so you can drop images in directly from a computer without opening the web UI at all.
What if I want to move my license to a new Raspberry Pi?
Activation limits are intentionally low — one or two per key — and there's no self-serve reset in the app itself. To move a license to different hardware, transfer it from your Lemon Squeezy dashboard, the same place the license was issued.
